Position: Data Specialist

For the last 35 years, the Indigenous Peoples Task Force has been at the forefront of closing the HIV/AIDS service delivery gaps for Native American and other marginalized communities across the Twin Cities and throughout greater Minnesota, based on Indigenous values and ways of knowing. Since 1987, our programs and services have grown to include services that drive a return to first medicines, the use of cultural arts to support youth, and natural resource healing and reclamation.

Job Summary

Independently and collaboratively ensures the accuracy of infectious disease testing technology through routine quality analysis. Routinely and accurately enters rapid testing data and works with program manager and elevator to produce reports and provide other timely data driven information for decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma with a working knowledge of data entry and database management best practices. one or two years of experience in any or a combination of the following areas: data entry, HIV and STI education and awareness, HIV and STI screening, testing, counseling, and referral services, outreach in Indigenous and other Communities of Color, the LGBT+ communities, and other populations at high risk for HIV and STIs.

knowledgeable of and experience with Indigenous ways of knowing and culture. And experience collaborating and communicating with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, statistics, sociology, psychology, or any other closely related field(s).
  • Strong background in data entry and data management and
  • Demonstrated experience with data analytics and software such as R, Python, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite in data management and analysis
  • Working knowledge of and experience with navigating the HIV care continuum
  • Certified to provide HIV counseling, testing, and referrals services in Minnesota
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • knowledgeable of and experience with Indigenous ways of knowing and culture
  • Must possess a valid driver license
  • Must pass a criminal background check
