Honoring Rev. Marlene Helgemo
Our ancestors are walking with us. Pastor Marlene is walking with us. She was a huge support to IPTF youth programming, including our mural project. Listen again to her words of wisdom.

"The fragility of life is always around us... and as we continue our journey on Mother Earth, we come to make good friends on our journey, and we have been given prayer to assist us in caring for one another... and the needs of people in our midst. Today, prayers are sent for those who need healing, for those in mourning and for those who need to make good decisions for themseleves and those who are in-trusted to their care and love. May our little ones be loved and safe. May our elders have wonderful days. May we see all that is before us, and may our prayers be answered."

Summer Youth Programming Highlights
Wild Rivers Conservancy hosted 3 trips for our youth to enjoy the St. Croix River. This collaboration began when two staff from Wild Rivers Conservancy attended events led by Sharon Day and got inspired by water protectors. As Julie from Wild Rivers Conservancy wrote, "listening to Sharon I realized I take so much from the water, and how can I give back?" Julie put together a grant that has brought 22 youth from Minneapolis to enjoy kayaking and the water this summer. In the above photos our summer program youth are leaning the geological history of the St. Croix River Valley and learning kayak strokes for steering.
