We are devastated that another black man has died at the hands of the police. We demand justice. Our hearts ache to see so much of our beautiful vibrant south Minneapolis destroyed and so many of our neighbors concerned about their safety and access to food.

The needs of our community have changed significantly and we are adapting to meet them. Our staff have stepped up to participate in neighborhood patrols, food distribution, and medical work to help meet the fundamental needs of our neighbors. I’m so happy to work with such a great team that is lending a hand wherever they can. Together we are protecting and strengthening our community. Migwetch to all the helpers!

We are grateful the Department of Health is supporting our staff as they help assess and respond to the emergency needs in our community.

This community emergency is a symptom of how much we need real change. We need to change the disparities in Minnesota in the rates of poverty. We need to eliminate the disparities in employment, education, and health. We are ready to do our part to re-imagine and build this new community.
